HIYA babes!
This weeks inspo is all about the short blunt cut!
I have been looking at pictures all week trying to decide if I should get the chop or not. When I was a teenager I always had long hair and then when I was about 18/19 I decided I needed a change and got my locks chopped. It started being about collarbone length then I decided 'hey why not go shorter!?' so I got it cut again to my jawline…!!! I still can't believe I even went that short but I am kinda 'daring' when it comes to changing up my hair. I always tell myself - if it looks good then great and if not, hair grows! Which it does. But when you go that short it takes extra long to grow back, especially if you are trying to grow it long again, as I impatiently found out! My mum has even said that I'm not allowed to cut my hair short again because I just went on about how I wanted my long hair back the whole time LOLz! But this time if I get the chop I would do things differently.
First off, I know what length suits me best. This is important because not every style will suit every person. Like in fashion you should dress to suit and compliment your body shape, your hair should suit and compliment the shape of your face. I think I was happiest with my short hair when it was collarbone length because it complimented my face shape, it was still long enough to tie up and it wouldn't take hundreds of years to grow out and get to a decent length again! Secondly, blunt cut is the way to go. I know my hair feels thicker and healthier when it has been blunt cut as opposed to a layered cut and let's face it, blunt is so chic right now! But if your hair is already thick then a few layers could really give it some needed shape - again go with what suits you best! I absolutely love all the styles pictured above. Admittedly, the Emma Stone and Julianne Hough looks are a little shorter than I would go, but they just pull off the shortie so well I had to appreciate! I would probably take all three of the other pics to a hairdresser to give them an idea of the type of shortie I was thinking of going for and then hope and pray that my hair looked as good as theirs.
Should I do it?
I am thinking maybe yes.
XOXO
